About Wabano Kids
Wabano Kids is the gathering place for Ottawa’s Indigenous parents, grandparents, caregivers, and the babies, toddlers and children they care for.
Wabano Kids supports our community’s Indigenous families through a combination of play, cultural programming and child development workshops.
Wabano Kids isn’t a childcare centre, but we’ll help you care for your child. Our goal is to offer caregivers the support, community and knowledge they need to raise happy and healthy children.
Activities are offered free of charge to parents, grandparents and caregivers, of children aged 0 – 6.
Together, we’ll make the early years the best years!

Wabano is an inclusive space. While our programming is geared towards Ottawa’s Indigenous community, we welcome everyone sharing in the caregiving of an Indigenous community child. This means, you’re welcome if you are:
- Not Indigenous and have an Indigenous child
- If you are Indigenous and have a non-Indigenous
- A foster parent of an Indigenous child.
You will need to bring indoor shoes for your child. Snacks will be provided.
The majority of our programs are held at the Early Years house. See our contact info for details.
